BRI targets to have 10,800 ATMs

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia has announced plans to install 4,100 new automated teller machines (ATMs) over the next two years, targeting to own 10,800 ATMs by 2013.

“Currently the total number of BRI ATMs is 6,685,” BRI corporate secretary Muhammad Ali said Wednesday.

The new ATMs will be installed in strategic and accessible areas, such as BRI’s 10th Drive-Thru ATM facility in the office and shopping district of Senayan, he said.

BRI offers 52 service features at its ATMs, which can handle 1 million transactions per day.

“The increase in fee-based income from 2009 to 2010 was 101.67 percent. Meanwhile, fee-based income from BRI ATM transactions in 2010 was Rp 237.97 billion,” Ali said, as quoted by kompas.com.

BRI also plans to add 30 thousand electronic data capture (EDC) units and 20 cash deposit machines (CDM) by 2013.
